micro pressure hot water boiler

What is the safe pressure for a hot-water-heating system?

Jan 19, 2015 · The water pressure in a hydronic boiler shouldn't be over 12- to 15-psi. It should have only enough pressure to raise the water a few feet above the top of the highest point in the piping system. A 12-psi setting will lift water 28' above the fill valve. A 15-psi setting will lift the water to 34'.

How to Fix Rising Boiler Pressure | DoItYourself.com

Too much water in the expansion tank and too little air may also cause pressure to rise frequently. If the bottom of the tank does not feel hotter than the top, it indicates an excessive amount of water. You need to drain this water from the tank. To do so, first turn the boiler off. Then close the water shutoff valve and allow the system to cool.

Specifying high-temperature hot-water boilers and systems

High-temperature hot-water (HTHW) plants are typically designed to operate at temperatures ranging from 350°F to 420°F. The system pressure must be at least 25 psig above the saturation pressure of the high-temperature waters maximum temperature to prevent pump cavitation and flashing of superheated water to steam.

How to Reduce Boiler Pressure in an Older Boiler

Step 1 - Pressure. Boiler pressure builds up in the system. The way to reduce it is to bleed the system by letting air escape. The boiler feeds a closed circulation system. By expressing air from the system you reduce the pressure in the system. You can then adjust the pressure level later by turning on the feed of cold water to the system.
